Agoge was the place where young Spartan children were trained to become some of the most famous soldiers of human history.
That is what led us to start our company, we would like to be part of an education toward the public.
Our mission is to put a knife in every pocket and purse, to make every single person understand how important knives have been in human history and how mankind, today like millenniums ago, cannot survive without blades.
We would like to make every person carry and be able to use a pocket knife in every day's life.
The owner has a long history beside knives and blades, he started when only 7 years of age collecting and using small folding knives.
Since then he never stopped learning the use of knives, sword and anything that has a blade and most of all he went deep into knives history and the way they are built learning the basics of bladesmithing and industrial production.

Agoge Blades is born from the foundations of Lethimos Knives Department, professional knives and tools copamy devoted to serving mostly military, law enforcement and emergency units with tailored tools.
After many requests we decided to check the commercial and industrial side of the knives world, making a deep research to get the best bang for your buck to offer people, not cheap and low quality products like many importers offer, and also not absurdly priced knives where you actually don't know if you are paying for quality or just for a brand name.
Unfortunately as a start up brand, new to this segment, we don't have enough strength yet to produce our own designed models so we had to start importing from selected suppliers, but in the near future we will start our production.

We just want to give to our customers the best products possible at a reasonable price, together with a customer assistance that usually only top end brands give.
We aim to give a price and quality that everybody can afford to use with no fear of ruining the knife, as is needed in every day carry.

Suppliers
Long hours of research, hundreds of emails to suppliers to understand what they do, how they produce, what materials they use.
The primary selection is on the suppliers.
Unprofessional, sale oriented instead of quality oriented suppliers are discarded, low quality mass production industries cant become our partners.
Only companies with good work ethic, quality production and interesting products are selected
Selection Process
After choosing the suppliers we start researching among their OEM catalog to find the right products for us.
We don't prioritize cheap products for easy selling, and dont look for fancy strange knives that just catch the eye.
We are professionals that have spent most of their life with a knife in their hands, know what a knife is made of and for.
We pursue the research of good quality products that can be a daily companion you can depend on.
Testing the Products
Every sample we receive from a supplier is disassembled and tested on the bench first, reassembled and tested on the field after.
The disassembly in needed to see how the supplier works on hidden details.
The blades are tested to verify hardness and heat treatment, inspected for defects and studied to see the total engineering and construction precision.
Then the knife is assembled and goes through various field testing ending in the destruction test, made to check the product's limits
If the knife passes the tests it will get in our catalog, otherwise it will be discarded and we go back to selection.
